Swaraj was admitted to AIIMS, Delhi after her health deteriorated, said reports. It should be noted that just a short while ago she sent congratulations to PM Modi, through Twitter, for the smooth passage of J&K Reorganisation Bill in the Parliament. "I was waiting to see this day in my lifetime," she wrote, thanking PM Modi for scrapping Article 370.
In June, ex-minister Swaraj left her official residence, quietly
Swaraj will always be remembered for her humble nature. A month after PM Modi formed the government again, Swaraj vacated her official residence, without any fuss. Informing about it through Twitter, Swaraj wrote, "I have moved out of my official residence 8, Safdarjung Lane, New Delhi. Please note that I am not contactable on the earlier address and phone numbers."
Born in Haryana, Swaraj studied law, became Delhi's CM
Born in Haryana in 1952, Swaraj completed her education from Sanatan Dharma College in Ambala Cantonment. The daughter of a prominent RSS worker, Swaraj studied Sanskrit, Political Science. She had a Law degree from Punjab University. In 1973, she started practicing law in the Supreme Court. Notably, Swaraj also served as Delhi's Chief Minister for a short time in 1998.
Swaraj became India's favorite EAM
In the Union Cabinet, Swaraj donned multiple hats. She was the Union Minister for I&B, handled health and family welfare, and also took care of parliamentary affairs.
