Caught-on-camera: BJP leader assaults differently-abled man for criticizing Modi, Yogi
In a shocking incident, a BJP leader assaulted a differently-abled man and tried shoving a stick in his mouth in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. The incident was recorded on camera. The leader is Mohammad Miya, who had unsuccessfully contested for municipal chairman's post in Ujhari of Amroha district, and the victim is 22-year-old Manoj Gujjar. Gujjar was abused for praising former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.

According to TOI, the disturbing incident took place on Monday when local BJP workers and Sambhal district president Rajesh Singhal went to meet sub-divisional magistrate Dipender Yadav inside the collectorate. On seeing the delegation of BJP leaders, Gujjar started praising Yadav and said he would vote for him. He also criticized Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. His words irked Miya.

As Gujjar was speaking against PM Modi and the BJP, Miya took out a stick and assaulted him. On hearing of the incident, SDM Singhal ordered the arrest of Gujjar for breaching the peace. Sambhal SP Yamuna Prasad said a preliminary investigation revealed Miya was a history-sheeter at Asmoli police station. He added no one from victim's family has visited the police station.

Gujjar is a resident of Chandausi tehsil. He goes to Sambhal every day to sell shoes and chappals, his sister Manju told TOI. Reportedly, he was released from jail on Tuesday evening. While Gujjar was imprisoned for 'breaching peace', Miya left Sambhal after the video went viral. Later, he blamed Gujjar's abusive language for his problematic behavior and said he was ready to apologize.
Ready to apologize to Gujjar in public, says Miya
"Gujjar was using abusive language against senior BJP leaders. After hearing this I lost control and scolded him. I am ready to apologize to him in public for this," Miya said. He also claimed he did not shove a stick in Gujjar's mouth.
