BJP does not respect democracy: Goa Congress spokesperson
What's the story
Goa Congress spokesperson Yatish Naik today said that the way BJP MPs Shripad Naik and Narendra Sawaikar condemned their (Congress's) action of meeting the Governor and submitting the letter, indicated that BJP has scant respect for the democracy.
He was referring to a press conference held by the two MPs yesterday after Congress leaders met the Governor and staked claim to form the government.
Advising governor
Was only advising the governor to correct her mistake: Naik
Naik said they were only advising Governor Mridula Sinha to follow her counterpart in Karnataka and rectify the mistake she made in 2017 when Congress was not invited to form the government despite being the single largest party.
The Congress emerged as Goa's single largest party last year but fell short of a majority. The Governor, however, invited BJP to form the government.

Naik also said that the saffron party should "condemn the headless government running in the state for the last two months."
He added that no cabinet meetings have been held for the last two months and there is a collapse of the administration.
