
BJP clean sweeps Chhattisgarh mayoral polls with 10 seats

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) bagged all 10 mayoral posts in the Chhattisgarh civic polls on Saturday.
The elections recorded a voter turnout of 72.19%, with Koriya and Gariaband districts witnessing the highest turnout at 84.97% and 84.65%, respectively.
Meanwhile, Bilaspur and Raipur recorded the lowest turnouts at 51.37% and 52.75%.

Results declared after counting votes from 173 urban bodies
The results were declared after counting votes of 173 urban bodies, including 10 Municipal Corporations, 49 Councils and 114 Nagar Panchayats.
44.74 lakh eligible voters, including 22.52 lakh men and 22.73 lakh women, exercised their franchise at 597 polling stations.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai thanked voters for their support in these elections.

'Historic day for Chhattisgarh BJP...': CM Sai
"This is a historic day for Chhattisgarh BJP and the state govt... BJP has got a historic win in Chhattisgarh Civic Polls," said Chief Minister Sai.
"Our candidates won all 10 seats with a huge margin. Congress has been swiped clean in the civic polls, they did not win even a single seat...we want to thank all the voters for having faith in BJP and PM Modi," he added.

BJP chief JP Nadda congratulates state's leadership
BJP chief JP Nadda congratulated the state's leadership on this landslide victory, crediting it to public trust in BJP's welfare schemes under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
He said this victory symbolizes "the unwavering faith of the people of the state on the public welfare and tribal-friendly schemes."
The Election Commission scheduled these urban local body elections for February 11, with results declared on February 15.
