    What's the story

A training book being circulated to Bharatiya Janata Party's cadres tells China is a threat to India, forced religious conversion are on a rise, and claims Maoists are supported by Pakistan.

The book was prepared as part of the party's Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Prashikshan Mahaabhiyan (mega training programme), 2018.

One of the books was released by party president Amit Shah on June 13.

    Information

BJP's handbook ahead of Lok Sabha 2019 elections

The book can be seen as BJP's handbook ahead of the 2019 general elections. Booklets for BJP's Mahila Morcha have also been prepared. The Kisan Morcha wings- Mahila Morcha Prashikshan Praroop and Kisan Morcha Prashikshan Praroop also have their own booklets.

    The booklet

China bigger threat than USA, claims BJP booklet

One of the booklets reads, "China and Pakistan both have nuclear weapons and have developed close diplomatic relations to impede India's growth as a global power."

The booklet goes on to say that India has more threat from China than it has from the US.

These 'teachings' come in wake of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent meeting with China's President Xi Jinping.

    Details

Further, the booklet talks about China and Pakistan's relations

The booklet talks about China supporting Pakistan on a world platform. "Recently, China supported Pakistan on a proposal in the United Nations regarding Lakhvi (26/11 mastermind Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi)."

It also said China was helping Pakistan and Sri Lanka by developing roads along the border.

It added there has been no firing after 1962, but "China is constantly stockpiling ammunition on the border."

    Quote

Not only external threats, booklet talks about internal problems too

"Maoists who are receiving help from Pakistan and China, have become a threat for the internal security of the country. Separatist outfits active in the Northeast are carrying out anti-India activities from hideouts in Myanmar and Bangladesh," it read.

    The chapters

The book says 'forced religious conversions' are supported by parties

In the chapter where the book talks about Pakistan shielding terrorists like Dawood Ibrahim and Tiger Memon, a section on 'Jabran Dharmantaran' (forced religious conversions) is included.

The booklet also states Pakistan is the birthplace of terrorism.

"Religious conversion is a politically sensitive matter because various political parties in India are either promoting religious conversions or silently giving support to it," the booklet claimed.
