Public reaction
Video of incident goes viral
The incident was captured in a video that went viral on social media, leading to public outcry.
In the clip, Yadav said, "Ae sipahi, Deepak, ek gaana bajayenge uspe tumko thumka lagana hai. Bura mat mano, it's Holi. Aaj nahi thumka lagaoge toh suspend kar diye jaoge."
"A song will be played and you have to dance. Don't mind, it's Holi. If you don't dance today you'll be suspended."
Political backlash
Political leaders criticize Yadav's behavior
The video has invited widespread criticism from opposition leaders who see Yadav's behavior as emblematic of RJD's past conduct.
Bihar Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha slammed the incident saying "RJD's culture is to flout the law and insult constitutional posts. Their ideology will never change."
BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla condemned the incident too, drawing parallels between Tej Pratap and his father Lalu Prasad Yadav's conduct during his CM tenure.
Further criticism
JD(U) and Congress leaders also criticize Yadav
BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain questioned Yadav's right to suspend anyone, saying, "This is Nitish Kumar's government, not Jungle Raj."
JD(U) national spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan Prasad also condemned the incident, saying "Jungle Raj has ended but Lalu Yadav's family still behaves like it's alive. Such acts have no place in today's Bihar."
Even Congress party leader Rashid Alvi distanced himself from the remarks of his ally RJD leader.
