Atishi breaks down as Sisodia gets bail
Delhi Education Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader, Atishi, broke down on camera during a speech following the Supreme Court's decision to grant bail to former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia. "Today the truth has won, the students of Delhi have won. He was put in jail because he provided good education to poor children," she said while addressing a school in the national capital.

She also expressed hope for the release of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, stating, "Now we are waiting that in the same way...CM Arvind Kejriwal will also come out." Sisodia was granted bail nearly 18 months after his arrest in connection with the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy 2021-22 case. The Supreme Court verdict, delivered by Justices BR Gavai and KV Viswanathan, cited that it would be a "travesty of justice" to continue Sisodia's incarceration without significant progress in the trial.

AAP leaders hail Supreme Court's decision
AAP leaders have hailed the Supreme Court's decision as a "victory of truth." Party MP Raghav Chadha expressed his happiness on social media, stating, "The whole country is happy today as Manish Sisodia, the hero of Delhi education revolution, got bail." Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh also described the verdict as a "victory of truth," adding that he hopes other party leaders, including Kejriwal and Satyendar Jain, will also receive justice.
Sisodia's arrest and resignation details
Sisodia was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on February 26, 2023, for alleged irregularities in the Delhi excise policy 2021-22. He was later arrested by the ED on March 9, 2023, in connection with a money laundering case. Following his arrest, he resigned from the Delhi cabinet on February 28 last year. This was Sisodia's third attempt at securing bail from the top court. His previous pleas were rejected last year and earlier this year.
