Ashish Khetan is an investigative journalist, author, columnist, lawyer, and ex-politician of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). After obtaining a BCom degree, Khetan did his Master’s in Labor Laws & Personnel Management from the University of Lucknow. He did his LLB from Campus Law Center, Delhi University, and pursued his LLM from the University of Cambridge, UK. Khetan worked as a journalist for over a decade and a half, covering a wide range of issues from political economy and public policy to crime, corruption, and internal security. He ventured into politics in 2014, joining the then newly formed Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and contested the Lok Sabha elections that year from the New Delhi constituency. He lost the election to Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Meenakshi Lekhi. Between 2015 and 2018, Khetan was the Vice-Chairperson of the Delhi Government’s premier think tank, Dialogue and Development Commission of Delhi. He resigned from AAP in 2018 in order to pursue law. As a legal professional, Khetan is a specialist in International Commercial Taxation, International Investment Law, and International Environmental Law, among others. He is an Associate Professor of Legal Practice at the Jindal Global Law School, OP Jindal University.
