Owaisi calls Masood Azhar 'satan'; slams Modi over Pulwama attack
All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday spoke on the Pulwama attack of February 14, calling it a failure of the Narendra Modi government. Owaisi, who was addressing a rally at iconic Shivaji Park in Dadar, also said Masood Azhar, the chief of Jaish-e-Mohammed which carried out the attack, was not a "Maulana" but "Satan". Here's more on what he said.
Pakistan should remember Indians are one: Owaisi
"Masood Azhar is not a maulana (cleric) but satan. Pakistan should remember that when it's the question of our country, we (Indians) are all one," said Owaisi. The firebrand leader also advised Pakistan to not worry about Indian Muslims. He reminded Indian Muslims rejected Mohammad Ali Jinnah's idea of Pakistan after partition. He even slammed Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Owaisi asks Khan to drop "mask of innocence"
Owaisi asked the cricketer-turned-politician to drop his "mask of innocence". Referring to Khan's address after the attack, Owaisi said he shouldn't give messages to India by sitting in front of a camera. "You started this, it wasn't the first attack. There was Pathankot, Uri and now Pulwama. We would like to tell Pakistan PM to drop his mask of innocence," he said.
Owaisi underlines diversity of India to give strong message
"One of the ministers from Pakistan had said that they will stop the prayer bells from ringing in temples of India but I want to tell him that he doesn't know India. Till Muslims of this country are alive, Azaan will sound from mosques and bells will ring in temples," said Owaisi.
Separately, Owaisi points out intelligence failure, questions PM Modi
Notably, Owaisi's strong words weren't only meant for the neighboring country and terrorists. He also came down heavily on PM Modi. He said PM Modi will have to explain how 200 kgs of RDX came to India. "The Prime Minister should ponder over whether this is a failure of our intelligence agencies if he could find some time from photoshoots," he said.
Owaisi wishes long-life for PM Modi, so people get answers
Owaisi also reminded that Chinese President Xi Jinping was given a grand welcome when he visited Gujarat. But despite the "amicable terms" China has been blocking India's efforts globally. He added PM Modi will have to explain incidents of mob lynching. "We say Modi should live for 180 years. His own people too don't say this. But, we only seek answers," he said.
Owaisi disapproves of Sushma Swaraj's trips as well
Furthermore, Owaisi didn't endorse External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj's presence at meetings of Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC). He highlighted Kashmir was referred to as India occupied Kashmir by these countries. "We should be forcefully telling them that Kashmir is an integral part of India," he opined. He even slammed Congress and said Muslims shouldn't support it as the party has only caused problems.
