Kejriwal slapped: AAP chief demands PM Modi's resignation
A day after he was slapped by a man during a roadshow, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday claimed BJP was behind the attack and asked PM Narendra Modi to resign. The AAP Chief said Delhi is the only state where the security of CM comes under his opponent's jurisdiction. Further, Kejriwal added his determination won't be affected by attacks. Here's what happened.
Backstory: As Kejriwal was waving at crowd, man slapped him
Kejriwal was assaulted on Saturday when he was in Moti Nagar to campaign for Brijesh Goyal, whom AAP has fielded from Delhi'>New Delhi. The assaulter, identified as 29-year-old Suresh Chauhan Gadiyalohar, climbed atop the vehicle Kejriwal was on. Chauhan was detained by police and AAP questioned security laxity. Notably, Kejriwal is entitled to Z-category security cover. Leaders of other parties also condemned the attack.

Have been attacked several times, said Kejriwal
Kejriwal held a press conference to speak on the attack. He said this was the ninth attack on him in the last five years and fifth since he took office. "In this country, Delhi CM is the only CM whose security's responsibility is in the hands of the opposition party that is BJP," said Kejriwal. He called it an attack on Delhi's mandate.

This is what dictatorship looks like, said Kejriwal
Kejriwal said the attacker was "sent" to deliver a message that anyone who speaks against PM Modi will not be spared. This is a trademark of dictatorship, he claimed. "They cannot tolerate an 'Aam Aadmi' in politics. There were raids in my office. Even in my bedroom. There are 33 cases filed against me," Kejriwal said. The attack was part of conspiracy, he added.
Kejriwal said PM Modi should resign
"Modiji has insulted the Army as no one has done before. If such an attack happens on any other chief minister, will the police commissioner save his job? Prime Minister himself should resign after such an incident," Kejriwal told the press.

Meanwhile, attacker's family said they were shocked by his behavior
While Chauhan's face remained plastered on media on Saturday, his family claimed they had no clue he would do such a thing. No one asked Chauhan, who is a scrap-dealer, where he was going when he left home. Later, those who accompanied him told the family what happened. Chauhan's brother-in-law Hansraj Gadiyalohar told IE he wasn't involved with any party whatsoever.
Hansraj underscored Chauhan didn't do the right thing
"He is uneducated; we fall under the OBC category. I am very close to him; I would know if he was ever involved with a political party," Hansraj added. He said the family hasn't met Chauhan, who has a daughter. "If we knew he was going to slap the CM, we would have never let him go. He is wrong," he added.
