In a setback to Akhilesh Yadav, 2 Samajwadi Pary legislators quit today, claiming suffocation within the party. The resignations of Bukkal Nawab and Yashwant Singh came on the day when BJP chief Amit Shah was to land in Lucknow for a meeting with party leaders. Akhilesh condemned the BJP for the resignations and said they were indulging in political corruption from Bihar to UP.

Akhilesh says those who talked about DNA, joined NDA

Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav mocked the Bihar CM Nitish Kumar for joining hands with NDA in Bihar after tearing apart the grand alliance. While addressing the media Akhilesh said, "those who used to talk about DNA, joined NDA". He was taking a jibe at BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi's statement that "Nitish Kumar's DNA is anti-Congress".

Shortly after resigning, Bukkal Nawab sings BJP's praises

Bukkal Nawab said that Samajwadi Party had become 'Samajwadi Akaahda'. Moreover, he said that how could Akhilesh side with people when he couldn't support his own father. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and said that the BJP was doing good work. He even said that if BJP asks him to, he will join the party.
