Star-studded BJP now welcomes Aashiqui actor Rahul Roy
Actor Rahul Roy has joined BJP in the presence of parliamentary affairs minister, Vijay Goel at the party's headquarters in Delhi. Roy tasted over-night success with his first film, the 1990 blockbuster Aashiqui, directed by Mahesh Bhatt. After Aashiqui's success, Roy signed 47 films in about 11 days. However, after a string of flops, Roy disappeared from the scene. He claims to have veered towards spirituality. In 2006, he appeared and won the first season of Bigg Boss. He was also honored with life membership of the International Film and Television Club of Asian Academy of Film & Television.
Failing to resurrect his acting career, Roy joins BJP
Since 2006, Roy was trying to resurrect his acting career with forgettable films like 'Naughty Boy', 'Sabse Bada Mujrim' etc. Roy also tried his hand at movie production with the movie 'Elaan' in 2011. However, after failing to make a mark in acting/production, Roy has now joined BJP. He praised PM Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah for changing India's perception in the world.
