Aaditya reacts to 'gang-rape, murder' charges by Disha Salian's father
What's the story
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray has denied any involvement in the death of Disha Salian after her father alleged that his daughter was "gang-raped, forcibly restrained and subjected to brutal sexual assault."
"Attempts are being made for the last five years to malign my image," Thackeray said on Thursday. He added they would respond to the allegations in court.
Disha died after falling from the 14th floor of a high-rise in suburban Malad on June 8, 2020.

Salian's father seeks CBI probe, FIR against Thackeray
Her death was later ruled as accidental by the police.
Four years later, Satish Salian, father of Disha, approached the Bombay HC seeking a reinvestigation into his daughter's death.
He has sought an FIR against Thackeray and the transfer of the case to the CBI.
Satish alleges his daughter was raped and murdered, and then a politically motivated cover-up was orchestrated to protect influential people.
Charges
Allegations of rape and murder against Thackeray
Advocate Nilesh C Ojha, on behalf of Satish, said a complaint was filed a year ago, but no case had been registered.
"On January 12, 2024, a written complaint was filed accusing Aaditya Thackeray, Suraj Pancholi and others of gang rape. FIR was not registered for more than one year," he said.
"The affidavit filed by Aaditya Thackeray stated lies that he was given a clean chit by the CBI in the case," he added.

Sanjay Raut reacts to the allegations
Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson Sanjay Raut has also reacted to the allegations, stating that continuous efforts are being made to defame the Thackeray family.
He questioned the timing of the FIR, alleging that some power is working behind the petitioner.
"The time chosen for the petition is when the atmosphere in Maharashtra is heated over Aurangzeb. Some power is working behind the petitioner. Discussion is being created around that petition, leaving aside the Aurangzeb issue," said Raut.
