Bridge linking South Bombay to international airport made toll free
The resident of South Bombay traveling to the upcoming Navi Mumbai international airport will not be required to pay any toll. The City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO) plans not to charge any toll for the 1.76 km long bridge that is to be developed on the 5.8km coastal road. Here's more.
Unique features about the toll free coastal road
"The coastal road will not only provide direct connectivity for motorists driving by the Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link (MTHL) for traveling to the new airport, it will also bifurcate at the Targhar railway station on the Uran corridor for direct entry into the airport," said reports. The connectivity between the airport and the railway station will be one of the first such roads in Maharashtra.
Coastal road to start from Shivaji Nagar in Ulwe node
The coastal road will start from Shivaji Nagar in Ulwe node and will also enable city residents to access South Bombay directly. "It will run till Aamre Marg that will help commuters to access the Palm Beach Road at the Kille junction and the city, while the bifurcation at upcoming Targhar will ensure entry and exit into the new airport," said an official.
