Thane: 54-year-old man killed in quarrel over Re. 1
A 54-year-old man from Kalyan town in Thane has been killed in a quarrel over Re. 1. The incident took place last night when the victim, Manohar Gamne, went to buy eggs from nearby neighborhood shop. Allegedly, Gamne paid Re. 1 less to the shopkeeper, which resulted in a quarrel. The quarrel later escalated after Gamne's son and the shopkeeper's son got involved.
Gamne was beaten to death by the shopkeeper's son
Gamne was verbally abused by the shopkeeper for paying less. Later, Gamne and his son went to the shopkeeper seeking an apology for his behavior. This led to a new round of verbal exchanges, which escalated into a fight. Gamne was badly beaten by the shopkeeper's son resulting in his death. The shopkeeper's son, 45-year-old Sudhkar Prabhu, has been arrested and charged with murder.
