Pune: Balancing sports and academics, national-level player scores 91.4%
Balancing sports and academics, a Pune student scored an impressive 91.4% in this year's CBSE class X exams. Aryan Panse (pictured) is a national and state-level table tennis player, and participated in more than 10 championships throughout the last year. Yet, he managed to ace the tough exam. The results were declared yesterday.
Even while preparing for boards, Panse participated in state-level tournaments
Even while preparing for boards, Panse participated at the state-level championships held at Balewadi in October and won a bronze. Panse got enlisted in the 'hall of fame' of Sanskriti School in Pune, after winning back-to-back medals in Players Cup, Masters Group and the Sharada Centre tournaments. But today, his credibility has crossed the confines of sports; he has excelled in academics too.
Will take up commerce as "it'll take less time"
Panse, however, is more focused on his game. He in fact talks about his next tournament first and then shares his higher studies plans! He wants to opt for commerce, simply because "it'll take less time to study and I can devote more time to sports." For the 13th-ranker state-wide, next year is important, because "I'll be playing in the under-18 bracket."
