6-months pregnant woman falls into deep gorge near Mumbai, saved
A heavily pregnant woman fell down an 800-feet deep gorge while walking on the toy-train tracks towards Kare Ganpati temple, Matheran, in Maharashtra. Luckily, after falling 80 feet, she got stuck in foliage, and was saved by rescue teams who admitted her to a hospital. Amazingly, her baby is safe. She initially alleged her husband pushed her, but changed her statement later, cops said.
Temple at upper terrain, couple had to walk on tracks
The Neral police said that six-month-pregnant Vijaya (25) and Suresh Pawar (33) had to take the tracks since the temple is at an upper terrain. That was when the mishap happened. Police received a call around 2.15 PM, but in the meantime, she was saved by local rescue teams, residents, taxi drivers and forest department officials. She was shifted to JJ Hospital later.
Second marriage for both, attempt to murder angle being investigated
Doctors said she had sustained minor injuries on her hand and back, requiring stitches. What took them by surprise, however, is that the massive fall did not harm her fetus at all. Cops said they'll ask her again if it was an accident, as she had accused Suresh of pushing her. This is the second marriage for both, who have kids with previous spouses.
