Woman raped, duped of Rs. 10L by Facebook friend
A 32-year-old woman from Navi Mumbai's Panvel was allegedly raped and also conned of Rs. 10L by Sandeep alias Kunal Khanna. She was friends with Khanna on Facebook since 2016. Khanna promised her a nationalized bank job and took the money in installments between Mar'16-Apr'17. He even sexually exploited her at a lodge in his native place, Uttar Pradesh's Deoria. Con-man goes untraceable around August
Khanna claimed to be an employee of a nationalized bank and told the victim he would get her a job there. In Apr'17, she asked him to return her money, but he kept delaying for four months. He later switched off his number and then went untraceable. The victim has registered a complaint against Khanna with the Panvel police.
Panvel police register FIR
The Panvel police have registered a FIR against Khanna under IPC Sections 420 (cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust), and 376 (rape). They have also transferred it as a Zero Case to Deoria police station in Uttar Pradesh.
