    70 passengers waited in Air India's aircraft for 3 hours

    What's the story

    70 passengers, including senior-citizens spent over 3 hours in an Air-India aircraft on Sunday before the Mumbai-Gwalior flight was cancelled as the weather was reportedly unclear in Gwalior.

    The fliers have alleged that there was poor treatment and lack of communication from the cabin crew; some claimed that the weather in Gwalior was clear.

    Man punched at Goregaon theatre for 'disrespecting' National Anthem

    A 59-year-old man named Amalraj Peter Dasan was assaulted when he didn't stand for the 'Jana Gana Mana' tune played in Dangal.

    He had risen for the National Anthem that was played before the movie started.

    The accused, 52-year-old Shirish Madhukar was booked under IPC sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 504 (insult with intention to provoke breach of peace).

    Demonetization

    Mumbai's angadiyas support demonetization

    Post the demonetization announcement, 90% of Mumbai's angadiyas have switched to regular courier services.

    Since Independence, angadiyas have transacted money, jewellery, gold, diamonds and other precious stones.

    "As soon as the ban was announced on 8th November, we decided to support PM Narendra Modi," said one of the angadiyas.

    Meanwhile, the others have made the decision out of fear.

    Leopard spotted crossing a street in Mumbai

    Around 2 am on Sunday morning, a leopard was spotted on a CCTV camera, crossing the street near a residential colony along the boundary of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SNGP).

    Forest department officials said they're known to frequent the area.

    "If a leopard has been captured on camera, it doesn't mean the animal needs to be captured," said one official.

    Mumbai start ups offer technological support to the differently abled

    An exhibition was held at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B) as a part of the festival 'Abhyuday' which promotes social causes.

    The exhibition featured creations of some student start-ups along with workshops, competitions and cultural programmes.

    Some of the student start-ups displayed walking sticks that warn about overhead obstacles, an automatic wheelchair that can turn into a toilet/shower seat etc.

    Powai guard sent to prison for repeatedly molesting young boy

    A special Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) court sentenced a 55-year-old watchman of a Powai highrise to 3-year-imprisonment for assaulting a 6-year-old boy repeatedly.

    The victim frequented the building to meet his maternal grandparents.

    "Nowadays, such offences against children are on the rise; it causes serious impacts on the psyche of the child which he carries throughout life," said the court.
