    The Railway Police registered a complaint after a Bengaluru woman's Facebook post about a man masturbating at her on a local train went viral.

    The flasher also threatened to rape her. When she called helpline, the officer laughed it off.

    Her post has triggered police into tracing the 'flasher' and also the officer who did not take action.

    Mumbai college student cooked up rape story to harass friend

    Mumbai college student, who claimed to have been abducted and raped at an isolated place in Charkop, confessed to having made it all up as she wanted to take revenge on her friend after a fight.

    "All claims made by the woman turned out to be false," a police officer said.

    The police discovered things different from what she claimed in her complaint.

    Police suspect Mumbai model killed over a drug deal

    According to Amboli police model Kritika Chaudhary, whose decomposed body was found at her residence, could have been killed over a drug-deal.

    Police are looking into the involvement of a drug dealer in connection with her murder. They also confirmed that Chaudhary used to consume drugs in the past.

    According to police, Chaudhary knew the murderers as there were no signs of forced entry.

    IMD predicts isolated heavy rainfall in Mumbai

    With meagre rain recorded last week, IMD forecasted heavy showers for Northern Konkan including Mumbai this week ahead.

    The weathermen blamed lack of favourable weather system for current dry spell.

    An IMD scientist said, "There is an upper air cyclonic circulation over western parts of Bihar, and in case of it moving northwards, parts of Gujarat and Maharashtra can expect isolated heavy showers."

    MMRDA dismisses 'near mishap' as technical glitch

    The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) cleared the air on the incident of two monorails coming head to head within inches of each other by saying that it was not a 'near mishap' situation.

    According to officials, one rake had suffered a power failure and the other one was called in to tow away the affected one.

    There were no casualties reported.

    Massive fire breaks out at residential building

    A 10-storey building was covered with smoke when a massive fire broke out in the residential building in Worli region of Mumbai.

    The fireman brought the fire under control. There have been no injuries or casualties reported.

    The people from the neighbouring building were evacuated and were asked to switch off the main supply of electricity.

    Construction worker arrested for raping speech-and-hearing impaired minor

    Mumbai crime branch arrested Akhilesh Basantu Basfur from Uttar Pradesh for allegedly raping a speech-and-hearing impaired girl when he worked as a construction in Borivali in September last year.

    The incident came to light when 14-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital because of abdominal pain. The doctors found out that she was 4 months pregnant.

    The girl's parents then filed a police complaint.

    Mumbai: FYJC merit list to be announced today

    All students are eagerly awaiting First Year Junior College (FYJC) merit list which will be announced today.

    FYJC applicants are worried about the stiff competition that lies ahead.

    "This year, we could see a slight increase in cut-offs as top scores have increased. State board have students with a score of 100% as well," said Ashok Wadia, principal, Jai Hind College.
