Mumbai school trustee booked for raping 3-year-old
A 57-year-old French national, who is a trustee of an international school in suburban Andheri allegedly raped a three-year-old girl inside the school premises. He was arrested on Tuesday and would be remanded in police custody till November 14. The accused allegedly raped the girl during Diwali last year, whereas a complaint with the police was lodged earlier this year.
Girl changed behavior led her to reveal the assault
The case dates back to May 18, when the girl's parents filed a complaint with police. Queries about her changed behavior led the child to reveal the assault happened in December last year. Polygraph test was carried out on the suspect last month. Apart from that, statements of at least 80 people from the school were recorded.
Woman class teacher took the girl to the trustee
Apparently, a woman class teacher of the minor girl allegedly assisted the main accused in the crime and was named a co-accused in the case. The teacher took the girl to the trustee's room, where he sexually assaulted her; the crime amounts to rape under Section 376 (2) of the IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
