#DontAppAndDrive: Mumbai Police gives driving lessons to Mumbaikars
Mumbai Police has time and again tried to spread awareness messages to the residents, with a pinch of humor and wit. From witty references of sitcoms, television series' to Bollywood songs and cat videos, the team has done it all to spread awareness. This time they have tried to remind people about the risks of using social media while driving. Here's how.
Police team starts safe-driving campaign on Twitter
Using the hashtag #DontAppAndDrive, the team has tried to make people aware of the risks of using social media applications while driving a vehicle. Considering people's addiction to these platforms and checking their phones every now and then, the team has used few custom designed illustrations to describe the risks while on the road. Here's the list of tweets Mumbai Police tweeted.
Tweets describe WhatsApp as WreckApp and Instagram as Risktagram
Using the illustration of WhatsApp, the team tweeted, "Don't let your 'last seen' in the virtual world be the last time your loved ones see you in the real world." Using Instagram's logo and describing it as Risktagram, the team wrote, "Be a storyteller on your handle later, not someone whose stories will be told later." Now, that is pretty effective.
The team tweeted, "But first, don't take a selfie!"
Using Twitter's larry bird logo in their third tweet, the Mumbai police has successfully given lessons of safe-driving. They tweeted, "The latest trend is to be alive for your loved ones." In the fourth and last tweet of the series, they used the logo of a phone's camera and reference of The Chainsmokers selfie song. They tweeted, "But first, don't take a selfie!"
