Mumbai murder: Accused searched internet for ways to dispose body
While investigating the murder of Sarawasti Vaidya—a 32-year-old woman who was allegedly killed and chopped into pieces by her live-in partner in Mumbai's Mira Road—the police found the main accused Manoj Ramesh Sane searched the internet to find ways to dispose of of the body. Reportedly, the accused also searched for ideas to ensure the body did not smell and decompose.
'Forgetful' accused wrote porn site names on paper: Report
According to the news outlet The Indian Express, the 56-year-old accused frequented pornographic sites and even wrote down the names of seven-eight porn websites on a paper since he could not remember the names of the sites. Police sources also revealed that the victim would apparently get infuriated when Sane looked "at any other woman."
Vaidya frequently 'quarreled' with Sane over not being 'satisfied'
Reportedly, Vaidya "quarreled" with her live-in partner, Sane, about his inability to keep her "happy and satisfied." Earlier, the accused had told the cops that their financial condition was bad, which led to frequent quarrels. Before moving to the rented flat in Mira Road, Sane and Vaidya lived in Borivali, where the accused's cousins reportedly live.
Accused bought eucalyptus oil to try delay decomposition: Sources
As per the police, Sane had chopped Vaidya's body using a tree cutter and then boiled her body parts to prevent a foul smell. The accused also bought five bottles of eucalyptus oil to delay the decomposition. However, his efforts were unsuccessful as the foul smell emanating from the body triggered alarm among the neighbors, who reported the matter to the cops.
How Sane reportedly tried to get rid of Vaidya's body
According to The Times of India, the police also suspect that Sane might have disposed of some of Vaidya's cooked body parts through the toilets as residents complained about clogged drains and toilets. Some apartment residents also claimed that the accused might have fed some of the body parts to stray dogs. However, the police said on Thursday that this theory had no merit.
Sane earlier told cops victim 'died by suicide'
On Thursday, it was reported that Sane told the police that the victim "died by suicide." "He checked her pulse and found her dead. Fearing action against him, he decided to get rid of the body," an official quoted Sane as saying. Cops found three blood-filled buckets in their apartment's kitchen, which also reportedly contained small pieces of the victim's body.
