    What's the story

A 45-year-old is languishing behind bars for allegedly raping an eight-year-old in Thane.

The survivor knew the accused as he was a regular at her father's eatery.

On Sunday evening, the accused followed the kid to the eatery's toilet and started violating her.

But she was rescued when her uncle caught him in the act.

He was thrashed before being handed over to cops.

    The child speaks

'He had raped me the previous Sunday too'

The incident happened around 8pm, when Ramesh Vijay Singh entered the toilet after her, switched off the lights, and forced himself on her.

When caught by the uncle, he tried to run, but passers-by grabbed him and started beating him black and blue.

The survivor said he had raped her the previous Sunday too but fearing consequences, she didn't tell anything to her parents.
