Mumbai witnessed somewhat pleasant weather yesterday, compared to the preceding Sunday that burned the city at 41 Celsius. Monday's temperature dipped to 38.5 Celsius but a heat wave situation was present. Tuesday recorded temperatures of 32.8 Celsius accompanied by a cool breeze in the evening, giving some respite to locals. The humidity stood at 84% and 68%, recorded in Colaba and Santacruz respectively.
Humid day to torture but respite in evening
MeT department officials said that a change in wind direction brought relief yesterday. The wind pattern is now northwesterly, blowing from the sea. The sea breeze is also setting in early, thus helping in alleviating the heat. Skymet Weather predicts that the high humidity will stay and cause some discomfort during the day, but the sea breeze will bring relief in the evening.
