Mumbai: Cancer-stricken girl thrashed by classmate, parents file complaint
A cancer-stricken girl studying in Mumbai's prominent Mahim School was allegedly assaulted by her classmate during the school hours over a petty argument, following which her parents have filed a complaint with the local police. As per the complaint, the girl suffered injuries to her private parts and her head after it was repeatedly banged to the wall by her classmate. Here's more.
Girls got into an argument during peace procession
Both the girls studying in Class X are aged 15 and got into an argument during a peace procession of students on January 30. In the complaint, the girl said that during the march the classmate was repeatedly pulling her uniform and abusing her, following which the girl who is a leukemia patient retaliated by calling her "stupid" and that made the classmate angry.
"She said I'll be taught a lesson," the complaint mentioned
The girl said in the complaint, "She flew into a rage and said I'll be taught a lesson. Later when we reached school, she kicked my private parts, rained blows on my shoulders and banged my head against the wall. " "She kept telling me her mother was a member of the parent-teacher association and that she feared nobody," she added.
The principal said both the girls were at fault
After the attack, the girl went to the principal's chamber, where both the girls were made to apologize to each other. The girl's parents said, "The principal did not bother to check the assault footage on CCTV cameras and ruled that both girls were at fault. Doctors have advised our daughter complete bed rest as she has been physically and mentally traumatized."
'Garam khoon hai, ho jata hain', said assaulter's mother
The assaulter's mother was summoned to the police station where she said that her daughter had "garam khoon". Adding that she's ready to bear the girl's medical expenses, the mother also apologized to the victim's parents. Meanwhile, many other parents came forward to support the assault victim and urged the school to bar the attacker from appearing for Board exams.
