Mumbai cabbie gets 10 years' imprisonment for raping minor boy
A sessions court in Mumbai on Tuesday awarded 10 years' imprisonment to a 30-year-old man for raping a minor boy inside his cab five years ago. The accused took the boy, who was 13-years-old then and studied in class 7, near a graveyard in Santacruz (East) and raped him. The minor narrated his ordeal in the POCSO court.
'He stopped his vehicle near graveyard, pulled up its windows'
The boy said that the accused owed him and his friend Rs. 110 for washing his car. When he went to ask for the money, the man asked the boy to accompany him while he fetched it. "He took me towards the kabrastan in his vehicle near Military Camp. He stopped the vehicle and pulled up all its windows," he said in his testimony.
Clues that helped: Silver car, Sai Baba sticker attached
After raping the boy, he dropped him in front of Military Camp and left. The boy shared his trauma with his parents and a case was registered at Vakola police station. While describing the vehicle, the boy recollected the silver-colored car that had a 'Sai Baba' sticker attached. Cops traced the vehicle and arrested the driver. The boy identified his rapist in court.
