At Mumbai airport, pet therapy de-stresses anxious flyers
Whether you're anxiously waiting for your connecting flight, upset about bidding goodbye to your loved ones or just stressed about the journey, Mumbai Airport's T2 Terminal has a solution to all of these. In an effort to comfort its exhausted travelers, the airport has become the first in India to introduce a unique therapeutic programme with the help of trained therapy dogs. Here's more.
Dogs handled by Gurgaon based organization
To comfort the passengers, there's Angel, a one-and-half-year-old Golden Retriever and her colleagues - a year-old Labrador named Muffin and a 14-month-old Shitzu called Cocoa. The dogs are handled by a Gurgaon based organization named Fur Ball Story that aims at reducing stress and adds happiness in the stressful life of people. The programme was started in 2015 by another organization with three Labradors.
Therapy available from 6 pm to 1 am on weekends
The co-founders of the organization travel to Mumbai every weekend along with their dogs hoping these friendly canines will be able to relax the stressed passengers. The pet therapy is available from 6 pm to 1 am. While dog lovers stop by to hug, cuddle and pet the adorable canines, people who are afraid of canines get a chance to befriend the trained dogs.
