Mumbai: Air India pilot behind bars for molesting air-hostess
An Air India pilot has been put behind bars after his colleague charged him with molestation aboard an Ahmedabad-Mumbai flight. The incident happened on May 4, when the duo had an altercation after the pilot allegedly passed lewd comments at the cabin crew member. The accused, 28-year-old Zoyeb Khan was arrested by Sahar police the next day. No senior airline official has commented yet.
She returned next day to file FIR, said cops
The 40-year-old cabin crew member reported the matter to senior Air India officials as soon as the flight landed in Mumbai. The officials, along with her and Khan, visited Sahar police station. She didn't lodge a complaint that day, but returned next day to file FIR under IPC section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), cops said.
Last year, another Air India pilot was accused of molestation
"Since the matter is under investigation, we cannot make any comment. We'll extend all co-operation to facilitate the process of investigation," Air India said in a statement. Last year in November, another Air India pilot was accused of repeatedly sexually harassing a female flight attendant.
