Mumbai mechanic steps on broken glass, bleeds to death
A Mumbai-based man recently bled to death on a footpath near Mumbai's Oshiwara Park after he accidentally stepped on a glass shard. According to Mumbai police, the man's body was found at a spot where traders sell mirrors. The police control room reportedly received information regarding the man lying in a pool of blood on Link Road around 8 am. Here's more.
Dead man reportedly a resident of Uttar Pradesh
Police have found an Aadhaar card with the body and based on that he has been identified as Indrajeet Saroj, a resident of Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh. The 43-year-old, a mechanic by profession, was also known as Raju. A senior inspector of the Oshiwara police station, Subhash Khanvilkar, said this did not appear to be a case of murder.
Case of accidental death registered, investigations underway: Police
Khanvilkar said that a case of accidental death has been registered and investigations are underway. "Apart from a deep cut on his foot, there were no other injuries on his body," he added. Another official said, "It's difficult to ascertain what happened, but it's suspected that he accidentally stepped on the glass. He might have also been searching for a place to sleep."
