Class X textbooks of Maharashtra leaked on WhatsApp
The textbook bureau of Maharashtra has recently filed a complaint with the Mumbai Police after some of the new class X textbooks were leaked on WhatsApp even before they were printed. The new books were scheduled to be out by April. But, PDF copies of the Science I and Science II textbooks have already been circulating in several WhatsApp groups from the past few days.
For the first time, books were drafted by textbook bureau
According to reports, the class X syllabus is being changed for the next academic year. For this, "the textbooks are being re-written by a board under the Maharashtra State Bureau of Textbook Production and Curriculum Research." "This is the first time the books are being written by the textbook bureau instead of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education," the report stated.
Investigation for how the textbooks got leaked: Bureau director
Director of the bureau, Sunil Nagar said that investigation on how the textbooks got leaked has been initiated. "While there will be no harm because of the incident, we want to get to the bottom of it to ensure it isn't repeated," he said. Few teachers also hinted that the books might have been leaked for the ease of the private publishers.
