Mumbai: At 11PM everyday, this dog arrives at Kanjurmarg station
This can be Indian version of Hachiko, just with a slight difference. While Hachiko waited for his owner for nine years, this female canine comes to Kanjurmarg station sharp at 11 PM, when a Kalyan-bound train arrives. She then runs towards the female compartments situated in the middle and other sides, gives a longing look inside and then leaves after the train departs.
Lost? Abandoned? Or just searching for food? No one knows
No one knows why she does that, but IT professional Sameer Thorat, who recorded the video, said the dog has four kids who are a few days old. "I spotted the dog while returning from work. The way it waits for the late-night trains and tries to peek inside the ladies coach, it seems it is searching for a particular person," said Thorat.
She has started her routine since Jan 2
Thorat goes from Dombivali to Powai between 3PM to midnight and he started spotted her since a couple of weeks back. CCTV camera footage shows that she has started this routine of hers since January 2, and that she turns up every day. She runs along the train till it stops and runs again as the train leaves, this time towards the exit.
Animal lovers feed her, puppies now
The video has grabbed quite a few eyeballs and some animal lovers have also helped her with food. Among them is Sourav Verma, who has already become her friend and feeds her puppies everyday. "I am looking for people who would adopt them after following proper procedure," he said. Animal experts believe that someone used to feed the dog but has now stopped.
