    14,000 LGBTQ members/supporters gathered at August Kranti Maidan for the Queer Azadi Mumbai march to mark the end of 'Pride-Month'. Participants from abroad, including Belgium, also joined in.

    True to its ideal of inclusiveness, the speeches delivered were decoded for the hearing-impaired.

    Collectives like Humsafar Trust, GayBombay, Doctors for Equality made their presence felt.

    Three-month-old pup dies after allegedly being thrown off terrace

    Witnesses at the Tolaram Housing Society heard a loud howl and thud, before running out and seeing a tortured puppy that soon died. It was allegedly flung off the terrace of the two-storey building.

    Autopsy revealed massive internal bleeding and injuries.

    Some residents are reportedly against the presence of stray dogs. An FIR has been registered. Police are expected to start questioning locals soon.

    Sanjay Gandhi National Park loses Rani, its oldest leopard

    Rani, the oldest leopard of Sanjay Gandhi National Park, died after being sick for the last few days. Her mate Raja, who was previously the oldest leopard, had died in 2014 at 20.

    The abandoned cub, earlier called Krishna, was brought into the park in 1999.

    The couple had formed a close bond with Anand Bharti, the longest-serving chief conservator of forests at SGNP.

    Nashik

    600 runners at Nashik's first hill marathon

    Foreign marathoners and local tribals competed with Mumbai and Nashik runners in the district's first hill marathon.

    600 participants, including runners from Kenya and Argentina, registered their presence.

    Men's 21K winner Isaac finished the run in 1.14 hours. Lina from Argentina was the runner-up in women's category.

    The city will organize the 'Run for Peace', launched by the police-department last year, on February 12.

    Lalbaug

    Cracks on Lalbaug flyover, traffic temporarily suspended

    Vehicular traffic was stopped on both sides of the Lalbaug flyover at around 7 am on January 30 morning. It was later opened for light motor vehicles.

    This was the second time in four months when traffic was stopped due to cracks.

    The 2.45-km flyover, the fifth on Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Road, was built in 2011 at a cost of Rs 140 crore.

    Largest beach clean-up removes 4,500 tonnes of garbage from Versova

    Since October'15, Mumbai lawyer Afroz Shah and some volunteers have been removing litter from the 2.5-km stretch. They have cleaned 52 toilets till now.

    Two top UN officials have also participated. Shah is the first Indian to be awarded Champions of the Earth by the UN.

    "It was fascinating to see people from the film industry, police and other walks come together," Shah said.
