Dhirubhai Ambani was one of the most affluent business tycoons, whose legacy is now carried forward by the Richie Rich of India and his son Mukesh Ambani. Although Ambani stays in Antilia, a 27-storeyed building in Mumbai, he's deeply connected to the 100-year-old house in Gujarat where Dhirubhai was born and bred. You can now visit that swanky ancestral mansion at just Rs. 2!
Dhirubhai's ancestral home is now open to the public
The ancestral house, which is nestled in Gujarat's Chordwad village in Junagadh district, underwent a lavish transformation, post which it was renamed Dhirubhai Ambani Memorial House. It was partially rented back in the 20th century until it was eventually bought in 2002. A luxurious two-story mansion that has everything ritzy that you can imagine, it has now opened its doors to the general public.
The property sprawls 1.2 acres, renovated for Rs. 5 crore
Speaking of the renovation, the property got a posh revamp worth a whopping Rs. 5 crore! For this, the Ambani son hired Abhikram & Amitabh Teaotia Designs. However, despite the refurbishing and all that jazz, he ensured that the original charm of the property remains intact. The establishment spans 1.2 acres of land and is surrounded by a lush green belt called Mangarolvalano Delo.

It has a garden that has been divided into three sections - a public area, a private coconut palm grove, and another private courtyard. What's more? You will find traditional copper and brass utensils, wooden furniture, and various artifacts that capture antiquity.
