Fertility yoga: Asanas couples should do together when conceiving
The ancient practice of yoga has science-backed benefits when it comes to fertility and conception in both men and women. Various studies around the world have revealed how practicing certain asanas together has improved the success rate of couples trying to conceive. Curious to know which yoga poses these are and how they work? Well, we have got it all covered for you.
Vrikshasana
This pose stimulates reproductive organs and improves the blood flow to them. Stand straight and close with your partner, and wrap one hand around each other's waist. Both of you fix one foot on your other leg's thigh, such that the latter leg of both partners touch each other. Inhale, raise your arms, and touch each other's palms.
Deep pelvic stretch
Both partners sit facing each other with their legs wide open and stretching outward. One partner holds the other's forearm and pulls them in their direction by leaning backward. The partner being pulled keeps the back, shoulders, and arms straight while bending forward. Once done, swap roles and repeat as comfortable. This asana contributes to overall reproductive health and boosts blood circulation.
Supta badhakonasana balasana
Both partners sit with their backs touching each other. The first partner sits with their feet under their hips while the second partner sits with their legs folded. The second partner raises their arms while the first grabs and pulls them toward their side, such that the second partner's back makes an arch and their love handles stretch. This helps relax the reproductive muscles.
Titliasana
This is an independent exercise that both partners can do side by side. Keeping your back straight, fold your knees and let both your soles touch each other. Now grab the united soles with both your hands and move your knees up and down quickly, just as a butterfly flutters its wings. This pose increases blood flow in the pelvis, increasing conception chances.
Parivratta sukhasana
For this, both partners sit with their backs touching each other. With backs, spines, and legs fixed, both partners rotate in opposite directions as they rest one hand on their thigh and the other on their partner's thigh. Repeat the same in the other direction and do as many rounds as possible. This pose massages the abdominal and reproductive organs.
