Cultural design
'Dream of the Desert' reflects Saudi culture and heritage
The design of the "Dream of the Desert" train features elements of Saudi culture and heritage. It is inspired by AlUla, Madain Saleh, and Hail.
The interiors are dressed in sandy tones with golds, beiges, and darker hues accented with chrome fittings.
Bedrooms have a glamorous Art Deco vibe with emerald-colored sofas and wood-paneled walls while the restaurant car provides panoramic views of the desert landscape.
Cultural journey
Luxury train to offer unique cultural and tourism experiences
The "Dream of the Desert" train will have 34 suites in 14 carriages. The restaurant menu will be designed by local and international chefs.
The route will cover 1,300km from Riyadh to Qurayyat near Jordan's border, stopping at Hail on one- and two-night trips.
In collaboration with the Saudi Ministry of Culture, the train will provide "curated cultural programs" and "unique tourism itineraries" for guests, Arsenale Group CEO Paolo Barletta said.
Train launches
'Dream of the Desert' preceded by Italian luxury train launch
Before Saudi Arabia's "Dream of the Desert" makes its debut, its sibling train, the Dolce Vita Orient Express, will be launched in Italy in April 2025.
The luxury train project is a collaboration between Saudi Arabia Railways and Italian luxury brand Arsenale S.p.A.
Paolo Barletta, CEO of Arsenale Group, called the upcoming Saudi Arabian venture "an unparalleled travel experience" and a "fully immersive experience."
