World Cocktail Day: Celebrate in flavor with these fruit-based recipes
World Cocktail Day is celebrated on May 13 and honestly, we can't think of a better weekend than chugging down some invigorating beverages tonight. So since sipping on some liquor with a punch of fresh fruity undertones is never a bad idea, here are five fruit-based cocktail recipes that you should try on this flavorful occasion. Check them out.
Strawberry vodka lemonade
This cocktail is 'berry' good as it is celebratory and fresh. Cut some strawberries into small pieces and then muddle them in the bottom of a tumbler. Now add some ice cubes and then pour in some vodka. Once that's done, top it all with fresh lemonade and give it a gentle stir. Garnish it with fresh strawberries cut on the sides and serve.
Pineapple mojito
Pour water and pineapple juice into a pan and heat until it lightly boils. Add sugar and stir to completely dissolve. Now let this concoction cool down completely and once it does, pour it into a bottle or a jar. Take a little of this and mix it with pineapple chunks in a glass. Mash them. Add rum, put ice, and pour club soda.
Grapefruit vodka tonic
You can easily prepare grapefruit vodka tonic as you only require a handful of basic ingredients for it. All you have to do is, fill a cocktail glass with some ice cubes. Add some small and mashed pieces of grapefruit, followed by grapefruit vodka, and tonic water. Give it a gentle stir and then garnish with a slice of grapefruit.
Purple margarita
First off, rim a margarita glass with charcoal salt. The next step is to grab a shaker, add coriander leaves and jamun juice to it, and muddle for a while. Now pour in some lemon juice, followed by tequila and triple sec. Add some ice cubes and shake them so that all the ingredients combine well.
Frozen banana daiquiri
For the uninitiated, daiquiri is a kind of cocktail that has rum, citrus juice, and a sweetener as its main ingredients. Add some ice, bananas, sugar, lime juice, triple sec, and tequila in a blender and blend until you attain a smooth concoction. Now pour this mixture into a glass and garnish with either bananas or cherries.
