One must focus on preparing for next compartment exam attempt
Students who fail in one of the five subjects in the CBSE Board Exams are given three subsequent chances of appearing for the compartment examination (July-August, March-April, and July-August) in that particular subject. Students who have not been able to clear the compartment exam should, however, focus on preparing for their next attempt in a proper manner instead of feeling dejected.
Identify flaws in preparation, create a new study plan
Students must start preparing for their next compartment exam attempt as soon as possible. They can begin by reviewing their previous preparation strategy to find any flaws. They need to find out the preparation mistakes due to which they might have failed in the board exam before. They should create a new study plan and have an integrated approach to ace the subject.
Focus on NCERT textbooks, ensure there's enough time for revision
Students must focus on their NCERT textbooks to prepare for their next attempt and avoid consulting too many reference books as it may lead to confusion. Apart from studying, they should focus on revising or practicing whatever they learn on a regular basis. They can maintain a separate notebook to write down important points of all topics which can help in quick revision.
Solve previous papers, take mock tests; analyze performance regularly
Students must also solve previous papers and take chapter-wise and full-length mock tests in the subject they have failed in order to boost their confidence level and improve their chances of clearing the compartment exam. It is also important to review/analyze their performance regularly to be able to identify any preparation flaws and improve their performance by making changes to their strategy accordingly.
For students who failed in all compartment exam chances
Students who fail in all three chances of compartment exam in the subject they couldn't clear will be required to re-appear and pass in the subsequent annual Class-12 board examinations for all subjects. Such students will have to put in more hard work and create a solid preparation strategy that suits their study requirements, strengths, weaknesses, pace, etc. to ace all the subjects.
