Summer season calls for some refreshing recipes, and sorbets are an amazing option to instantly cool your body. Sorbets are typically frozen desserts made using ice, fruits, sugar, and syrups. NewsBytes reached out to Saurabh Singh Chandel, executive chef at Crowne Plaza, Greater Noida, to know about some of his best sorbet recipes. Here is a list of sorbets you can try at home.
Rooh Afza sorbet with chopped pistachio
Take a saucepan and put it on high flame. Add six cups of water, 1.5 cups of sugar, corn syrup, and honey. Simmer over low heat for five minutes. Now, add rose water, lime zest, and lime juice to it. Transfer it into a container to set in a freezer. Take it out and serve it with chopped pistachio.
Pina colada sorbet
In a blender, put three cups of pineapple, one cup of coconut water, and half a cup of sugar. Blend it into a smooth puree. To this, add one cup of coconut milk and 2/3 cup of coconut cream and whisk it. Cover the container and refrigerate it. Take it out and serve it with fresh coconut and pineapple.
Lemonade ice tea sorbet
Boil about two cups of water. Steep four sachets of tea bags for five minutes in it. Add sugar and mix it well. Take one cup of ice water and 3/4 cup of lemon juice and mix it with the tea. Refrigerate it and serve it with mint leaves. You can skip the mint if you are not a fan.
Mango lime sorbet
If you love mangoes, then this easy-to-make sorbet will win your heart. In a blender, put three cups of chopped mango, 1.5 cups of water, one cup of sugar, half a cup of lime juice, and two tablespoons of orange zest. Then blend it. Sieve the mix and refrigerate it. Serve it garnished with mint leaves and fresh mango slices.
Pineapple sorbet
For this, you will need one whole fresh pineapple, two tablespoons of lime juice, 1.5 cups of sugar, and some mints (optional). Take a blender and add pineapple, lime juice, and sugar. Blend everything into a smooth puree. Stir it, cover and then refrigerate the mixture. Take it out and serve it chilled with mint.
