How to reach Sainj Valley?

Hop on in an overnight bus from Delhi to Manali, get off at Aut. You can either rely on the local buses to reach the valley or get a cab. It is best you ask your homestay host to provide you with the service.

Hike to Pundrik Rishi Lake

Situated close to the village of Deohari, the Pundrik Rishi Lake is of immense importance to the locals. They consider the lake sacred and no one is allowed to touch the water. Although not a real lake, it is more of a marshland that fills up with water during the monsoon. Locals will be overjoyed to share the story behind this lake with you.

Visit the meadows of Shangarh

Meadows have a pleasing effect on us. When you're in Shangarh mesmerized by its beauty, a part of you would want to lie down and roll downhill! The locals say that during the era of Mahabharata, the Pandavas came here during their exile. To cultivate rice, they purified the soil to make the Shangarh meadows. This is why one cannot find any stones here.

Go camping in The Great Himalayan National Park

This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the most perfect places to experience camping and trekking in Himachal Pradesh. The park is home to four endangered animals--snow leopard, Himalayan tahr, serow, and musk deer. Lately, snow leopards were sighted a few times. If you're lucky, you might get to see these rare animals during your trek in the Park.
