5 games like Wordle that you can play for free
Created by Josh Wardle and owned by The New York Times, Wordle is a popular web-based word game. Each player gets six attempts to guess a five-letter word and the correct letters are either marked in green (for the correct place) or yellow (correct letter but wrong place). Following the popularity of this game, several similar apps have been created. Here's a list.
Hello Wordl
This game is pretty much like Wordle and probably one of the best alternatives out there. While the rules remain similar, you can make it more challenging by increasing the number of letters in the word. It goes up from a four-letter word to 11 letters. You can play as many times as you want, without having to wait for a whole new day.
Babble Royale
Unlike the calm game of Wordle, this is a pretty intense, highly competitive multi-player word game. First, you land from the sky as a letter and then you need to keep forming words fast to move ahead but also stay within the circle. You can connect words to kill other players. And, if you are the one with the last word, you win.
Wordguesser
This is exactly like Wordle but you can play more than one puzzle a day. With similar rules, you will see that the gray tiles are black here. This game allows you to change the difficulty level by guessing between a three-letter word to a seven-letter word. You can also play this with your friends by sharing a challenge link for the same word.
Kitty Letter
If you love cats, you will love this word game for its cuteness. The game is free to play and is available on iOS and Android. You need to combine letters to create words. As you do this, the words turn into a group of cats. Bigger words mean a larger cat army, which you can use to defend your home against the opponents.
SpellTower
In SpellTower, you need to create words, but strategically. You should connect letters to destroy blocks and continue to make new words. While you do this, more letters will keep cropping up from the bottom of the screen. Your aim is to keep making words and prevent the letters from touching the top of the screen. There are multiple game modes available as well.
