Ranbir Kapoor's physical transformation for 'Animal' revealed
Ranbir Kapoor has turned his "beast" mode on as Animal hits the big screen today. For his role, the heartthrob has undergone a dramatic physical transformation from slim and slender to all broad and beefed up, becoming a hot topic of discussion headlining across the country. Here's how the actor pushed through his thresholds to gear up for his "animalistic" avatar.
Kapoor attended '11:30 pm and 4:00 am' training sessions
Kapoor's distinct physical transformation is a result of him burning the midnight oil (and an early morning one too!) as the kind of workout routine he followed isn't made for the faint-hearted. Per reports, he trained with celebrity fitness coach Shivohaam, who during a recent interview, revealed they both did intense workouts at 11:30 pm and 4:00 am for several months between shooting schedules.
The focus was on achieving a big, muscular physique
After Kapoor's last release Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar in which he flaunted a lean and toned body, he only had a period of four months to get beefed up. Shivohaam told India Today that the aim was to gain 12 to 14 kg and maximize a lot of muscle gain. For this, they indulged in "weightlifting with a CrossFit-style approach" to activate muscle growth.
The actor increased intensity with weights and minimized rest periods
During the same conversation, the fitness coach further revealed the intensity of Kapoor's daily workout was increased with more weights and cutting down on rest periods. He also increased the volume of the workout, in addition to focusing on different combinations of muscle groups in each sweat session. The duo didn't stick to one workout plan as they cut the monotony with variety.
'Truly an example of a disciplined lifestyle': Shivohaam
In an interview, Shivohaam praised Kapoor and said that his Animal body is a "classic example of a disciplined lifestyle, dedication, and a lot of hard work."
