Diwali 2023: Last-minute cleaning hacks
As Diwali is around the corner, it's that time of the year when your home requires a cleaned revamped look. However, with our fast-paced lives and busy schedules, not everyone can do a wholesome cleaning for their entire house. This is where quick cleaning hacks come in handy. These hacks focus on quick cleaning solutions for the key areas of the house.
Clean glass surfaces
First thing to find is a usual bottle of vinegar. For removing stains from glass, white vinegar is an amazing cleaner. Use it to clean glass shelves, mirrors, and windows. Combine vinegar and warm water in a 50:50 ratio in a spray bottle. Wipe the surface thoroughly dry with a soft towel after using a wiper to clean it with the solution.
Clean stubborn kitchen stains
Since the kitchen will be the busiest room in the house during the festival season, it is important to make a good impression of it to the guests. Clean the gas stove, wall tiles, chimney, and kitchen sink first. To remove the hardware stains, mix equal parts lemon juice and apple cider vinegar. Mist the desired area and rinse it after around twenty minutes.
Quick bathroom fix
Bathroom tiles and floors are often prone to develop tough yellow stains. Take a mixture of half a cup of baking soda, a quarter cup of hydrogen peroxide and one teaspoon of dish soap. Apply this mixture to the tile and grout while wearing a hand glove. After letting it sit for about seven minutes, rinse it off with water.
Rearrange furniture
Cleaning your home is not the only thing you should do before Diwali. Simply moving your furniture around will also give your house a new look. Place them so that your living area appears clean and uncluttered while also exuding space. To liven up the space, replace the outdated stack of newspapers from the side/center tables and replace them with a flower vase.
Change furnishings
An easier hack than cleaning the furnishings in a short time is to replace the covers. Change the dining tablecloth, sofa covers if any. Remember to also replace your curtains. It's better to change it to lighter shades as it would mimic a brighter room. After changing, you could also add Diwali decor items onto the curtains to create a festive vibe.
