NYC: Restaurant serves instant ramen that you cook yourself
When dining at a restaurant, most of us expect instant service. However, a restaurant in New York City took that quite literally! Instant Noodle Factory, which is nestled in Long Island City, serves instant ramen that you have to cook on your own as there are no chefs or waiters! It is a new dining concept that is garnering attention in NYC's food space.
The restaurant offers 115 types of instant soups
Get ready to be spoilt for choice as Instant Noodle Factory has a staggering 115 instant soups on its menu. As you enter, you place your order using a computer kiosk. Within a few minutes, you are given uncooked, dried noodles and a packet of seasonings in a paper bowl. The eatery has an appliance, using which you cook your food.
An employee guides you with the cooking instructions
An employee at the restaurant guides you on how to use the appliance for cooking. The device dispenses boiling water and features an induction cooktop that heats your soup in a jiffy. There's a placard kept near the machine which has all the steps mentioned.
Noodles start at $2.40, customers can select 3 free toppings
Instant Noodle Factory offers noodles that are priced at $2.40 onwards. They also have a "premium" selection of noodles, the prices of which go up to $6.50. Customers can choose up to three toppings for free and can pay to get fresh proteins like tofu, grated parmesan, and more. If overwhelmed with choices, one can opt for their "prearranged combos" that feature fixed toppings.
What's your pick?
The owners are planning to open another branch in NYC
Opened last summer by 27-year-old Cierra Beck and her 26-year-old husband Tat Lee, the restaurant has received immense love and rave reviews ever since. Now the couple is gearing up to open another branch in NYC's East Village on November 27 this year. Lee told NY Post that the idea behind this concept is to offer "cheap tasty meals."
How are they different from ramen packets at grocery stores?
As the restaurant went viral on social media, many questioned how it's any different from instant noodle packets that one can easily buy from grocery stores and cook in the comfort of their home. To this, Lee told NY Post that the same could be said about lattes when all the ingredients like coffee beans, milk, etc. can be procured cheaply from the market.
The eatery offers both pickup and delivery services
Instant Noodle Factory has both pickup and delivery services. To avail of them, all you need to do is go to the restaurant's official website, log in with your details, and place your orders. For payment, you can choose cash on delivery or online modes.
Besides instant noodles, there's a lot more you can relish
If you thought they only dish out instant noodle soups, you got it wrong. The restaurant also has an array of side dishes, beverages, and desserts that you can savor. While their popular side dishes include rice ($2) and crispy mala spice seaweed ($4), desserts like boba ice bar ($3.75) and strawberry mochi ($2.50) will make it a "sweet" fare for you.
