It's 'olively' day! The US celebrates National Olive Day every year on June 1 and we can't think of a more delicious and wholesome way to begin a brand new month. So to commemorate this occasion, we have listed below five lips-smacking olive recipes that you can prepare to welcome a start a new month. Salivating already? Well, let's get started.
Olive bread
Add yeast to some warm water and set it aside. Now mix flour, salt, garlic powder, oregano, chili flakes, and your favorite herbs. Add the yeast solution and water, and knead into a dough. To this, add chopped olives and some olive oil. Let it rest for 30 minutes. Need the dough again for five minutes and then bake it for 25 minutes.
Tomato olive salad
To make this fresh salad, all you have to do is to add diced tomatoes, black olives, onions, crushed black peppercorns, and basil leaves to a bowl. Mix them well. Now, add some vinegar and lemon juice, and top it with some salt and pepper to taste. Once done, give it a final mix and refrigerate it for some time. Serve chilled.
Dirty martini
Love cocktails? Well, here's one with a punch of olives that you are surely going to enjoy. Grab a shaker and add gin or vodka (whichever you fancy), followed by dry vermouth and olive brine to it. Add ice cubes and shake well for 30 seconds or until nicely mixed. Strain into a cocktail glass, garnish with olives and serve.
Black bean hummus
Take a blender and add black beans, garlic, and sesame seeds to it. Pulse it and if it comes out dry, add a little water and then pulse again. Now add some olive oil, yogurt, black pepper, salt, and cumin powder. Blend until you attain a smooth paste. Transfer to a bowl, squeeze in some lemon, sprinkle some olives, and top with olive oil.

First, prepare the dressing by mixing olive oil and vinegar. Add salt and pepper, and give it a thorough mix again. Let the mixture refrigerate.
