National Iced Tea Month: Celebrate summer with these revitalizing recipes
The US marks June as National Iced Tea Month and we think that it is the most refreshing way to beat the heat during summer. A go-to cooler for many, iced tea is a delicious beverage that can be made in a variety of flavors. So to make this occasion more invigorating for you, here are five recipes you should try today.
Pineapple iced tea
Boil some water in a saucepan and add sugar to taste. Keep stirring until it dissolves. Once done, remove it from the heat and then add some green tea bags to it. Let them steep for 10 to 12 minutes. Now remove the tea bags and stir in some pineapple juice. Mix well, pour into a pitcher, and chill. Serve with ice.
Hibiscus iced tea
This has a mild flavor of hibiscus in it, besides looking gorgeous. Boil some water in a saucepan, dissolve some sugar, and once it is boiled, remove it from the heat. Let a couple of tea bags steep in it for a few minutes. Then add some washed and fresh hibiscus flowers. Strain and chill it. Add ice and enjoy.
Raspberry iced tea
Bring water to a boil and add sugar. Let it dissolve completely. Add green tea bags and steep for a few minutes. Separately, fill some water in a saucepan, boil it, and add raspberries to it. Let it simmer. Strain the raspberry liquid, keep the pulp aside for other recipes, and add to the tea bag solution. Refrigerate, add some ice cubes and sip.
Lemon iced tea
Put a green tea bag in a glass and pour some boiling water into it. Let it steep for five minutes. Discard the tea bag and transfer the liquid into a pitcher. Add two slices of lemons to it. Stir in some lemon juice and some sugar or honey to taste. Refrigerate for a few hours or overnight, add some ice cubes, and drink.
Matcha iced tea
Matcha is high in antioxidants and is good for your heart. Combine hot water with matcha and stir well. Now in a blender, add ice cubes, water, mint leaves, and matcha tea. Blend for about a minute. Sieve it and pour it into a pitcher. Add lemon juice and maple syrup and stir. Refrigerate and serve chilled with ice.
