National Blueberry Month: Homemade facemasks using this fruit
July is National Blueberry Month and we can't think of a better way to celebrate the brand-new month than doing some skincare using this juicy fruit. While it is a flavorsome offering that is used in a variety of food and beverages, its several health benefits can also be enjoyed by making some hydrating face packs to beat the summer season's heat.
Blueberry and strawberry face pack
Here's something 'berry' good for skincare freaks who enjoy seasonal fruits to a T. This blueberry and strawberry face pack is loaded with essential vitamins and minerals that keep your skin soft, supple, nourished, and hydrated. Make a smooth paste of a handful of strawberries and blueberries by blending them. Apply to your face and wash after 30 minutes.
Blueberry and yogurt face pack
This face pack is especially good for folks with oily skin. Simply mash a few blueberries and make a paste. Mix it with yogurt and then add a tablespoon each of honey and olive oil. Once done, apply this mixture to your face and let it rest for 20-25 minutes. Wash it off with water and pat dry to reveal a radiant face.
Blueberry and honey face pack
Blend blueberries, add a tablespoon of honey, and mix well to form a paste. Now massage this mixture on your face and neck and let it dry for 25 to 30 minutes. Gently wash the mask with lukewarm water. While blueberries are loaded with antioxidants, honey is a natural moisturizer. Together, they give your face a glow-up and help banish fine lines and wrinkles.
Blueberry and aloe vera face pack
Aloe vera is known to have some potent properties that are a godsend for healthy skin. And blueberry, on the other hand, has anthocyanins that leave you with glowing skin. They are a match made in heaven! Blend some blueberries and form a thick paste. Add some aloe vera gel to it and mix. Massage it on your face and leave for 40 minutes.
Blueberry and turmeric face pack
Blueberries can offer the much-needed glow to your face with their pyruvic acid and vitamin C, while turmeric can fade dark spots and blemishes. Begin by blending some fresh blueberries until you attain a thick paste. Then add 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder and mix well. Apply this paste to your face and neck and let it dry for 30 minutes. Then wash off.
