National Barbeque Day: 5 recipes to celebrate this culinary style
Touted as one of the oldest culinary techniques to have existed, barbeque is the perfect idea to spend a flavorful night with friends or family. And as the US celebrates National Barbeque Day on May 16 every year, we believe that it's the perfect excuse to binge on a spread of barbeque food. Sounds like an idea? Tandoori chicken
Mix ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, cumin powder, tandoori masala, chaat masala, lemon, salt, and yogurt in a bowl. Dunk some chicken pieces in it and coat them well. Let them marinate for an hour or two so that they absorb all the ingredients well. Now char grill these chicken pieces on a tandoor and keep glazing them with oil at regular intervals.
Paneer tikka
Dry roast cumin seeds, coriander seeds, brown cardamom, cloves, black pepper, and star anise. Grind them using a mortar and pestle. Now grab a bowl and add ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, coriander powder, chaat masala, mint leaves, and curd. Mix well. Drop some paneer cubes into it and marinate. Thereafter, char grill the paneer, brush with oil and serve.
Fish tikka
Begin by washing fish and cutting it into cubes. Apply some salt, red pepper, and lemon juice, and then set it aside for a while. Now prepare a marinade by combining garam masala, yogurt, red chili powder, lemon juice, cloves, ginger-garlic paste, and some chaat masala. Put the fish pieces into it for half a day, skewer them, and cook over a hot tandoor.
Vegetable skewers
Prepare a marinade by grinding garlic, olive oil, basil leaves, chili flakes, salt, and black pepper. Mix a few drops of lemon into it, followed by olive oil and some vinegar too. Blend more. Now arrange onions, tomatoes, capsicum, red bell pepper, and zucchini on a skewer stick, smear the marinade on each of them, and grill over a tandoor.
Seekh kebab
First, mix minced lamb and grated cheese in a bowl. Add ginger-garlic paste, green chili, red chili powder, coriander powder, chaat masala, garam masala, and salt. Mix well. Fold in egg whites, skewer the mixture, and then cook moderately for 12 to 15 minutes on a tandoor. Remove from skewers, garnish with lemon juice and chaat masala, and serve hot.
