5 ideas to perfect men's work wardrobe
A well-curated work wardrobe forms the foundation of business style and confidence. Whether entering the corporate world or seeking to refresh your professional attire, mastering versatile and fashionable ensembles is essential. Industrialist Yash Birla, known for his impeccable style, advocates for the effectiveness of business casual attire in daily workwear and offers valuable insights on how to excel in this style.
Blazers and trousers
Blazers and trousers are among the most adaptable business-casual outfits for men and can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. Birla suggests pairing black or navy blazers with complementary-colored trousers, such as khaki or black. He suggests, "A white button-down shirt and formal shoes will keep things understated." An all-black outfit can look dapper too.
Dress shirts and jackets
Consider wearing a dress shirt and waistcoat together for a more polished take on work casual, says Birla. "For meetings or presentations, this design works beautifully." For this, select a solid-colored dress shirt, such as white or blue, and match it with a jacket in a contrasting hue, such as grey or navy. Dress shoes and dress trousers will complete the look.
Button-down shirts and trousers
Birla suggests opting for a shirt in a solid color or a mild pattern like stripes or checks. "Complete the look by wearing it with a pair of complementary color pants. If you're wearing a solid shirt, choose printed trousers to go with it," he says. Prints can take your outfit up a notch. Complete your ensemble with a pair of loafers or boots.
Safari suit
Birla believes that Safari suits are incredibly comfortable and versatile. This style is however less commonly seen today in the formal wear section. According to him, safari suits are a perfect choice for spring and summer. "They provide a terrific option for outdoor activities, informal events, and even more formal occasions because of their lightweight fabrics, useful pockets, and classic style," he adds.
Casual wear
Birla recommends wearing whatever you are comfortable with while also making a fashion statement. "A fun printed co-ord set can be a great option to be comfortable, while also being trendy," he says. Another option would be to wear a short-sleeved button-down shirt with a pair of dark denim or chinos and a pair of lace-up boots.
