Mango Month: Make it sweet with these delicious recipes
June in the US is dedicated to the king of fruits, mango, as it celebrates "Mango Month" to mark the deliciousness of this yellow goodness. It's the perfect way to represent summer, especially when you try cooking some irresistibly appetizing mango dishes to beat the heat. So without any further ado, here are five recipes for you to try. Mango shrikhand
Whisk some hung curd and castor sugar. Once done, add some mango puree to it and mix well until you attain a smooth texture. Now add some saffron strands, followed by cardamom powder. Mix well. Then add chopped mango pieces and whisk again until thick. Refrigerate it for a few hours and then serve chilled.
Mango mousse
Grab a pan and add mango pulp, cinnamon powder, and 1/2 cup of sugar. Heat it over a low flame. Soak some gelatin in 1/2 cup of water and add it to the above mixture. Remove from heat, add some lemon juice, mix and pour into glasses, and let them cool. Garnish with mango slices and refrigerate for a few hours. Enjoy chilled.
Mango ice cream
Mix 1/4 cup of milk with custard powder and set aside. Separately, heat milk and sugar until it dissolves and the milk starts to boil. Add the custard mix and boil again. Add mango puree, cream, vanilla essence, and mix. Transfer to a bowl and freeze till almost set. Take it out, whip it with a hand beater, and freeze it again.
Mango chutney
Heat some oil in a pan and add hing, fenugreek, cumin, and fennel seeds. Saute and add grated mango. Once done, mix some salt, jaggery powder, and turmeric. Now add some water to this mixture and stir well. The final step is to add ginger powder, crushed cloves, and red chili powder. Cook for a while and it is ready.
Aam panna
Boil green mangoes in water until they soften from the inside. Let their skin also get discolored. Remove from heat and let them cool. Once cooled, squeeze the pulp out of these mangoes. Add this to a mixer, with salt, sugar, black pepper, roasted cumin seeds, finely chopped mint leaves, and some water. Blend, pour it into a glass, and add ice.
